This Privacy Policy explains how TrueBid.tech ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website. We are committed to being transparent and minimizing data collection.

1. What we collect

Analytics: When you visit a page, we record an anonymized page view. This includes the page path, a daily-rotating visitor identifier (a hash of IP + user agent + date — not reversible to your IP), your country (via GeoIP, derived from IP), and the referring URL.

Lead form: If you submit the "unlock full report" form, we store your email address and the VIN you were viewing, along with the date and your anonymized visitor identifier.

Cookies: We set a "locale" cookie to remember your language preference and a "theme" cookie for your dark/light mode preference. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

2. How we use your data

Page-view analytics help us understand which vehicles and pages are popular, so we can improve the service.

Your email from the lead form is used to send you the full vehicle report and to measure interest in the unlock feature. We do not sell or rent your email address.

3. What we do NOT do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

We do not use advertising networks or third-party trackers.

We do not collect sensitive personal data beyond what is described above.

4. Data retention

Anonymized page-view data is retained indefinitely in aggregate form. Individual page-view records may be periodically purged.

Lead records (email + VIN) are retained for as long as needed to deliver the report and measure the experiment. You may request deletion at any time.

5. Your rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@truebid.tech.

We do not rely on consent for tracking cookies because we do not use them. The cookies we set are strictly functional (language and theme).

6. Children

TrueBid is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data, including hashed visitor identifiers and encrypted connections (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
